So what is an avid gardener to do in
January?
Day dreaming and garden planning go hand in hand this time of year with seed and plant catalogs arriving to provide new ideas and inspiration. But don’t forget practical matters. January is a great time to inspect, clean, repair, sharpen and oil your essential garden tools: pruners, loppers, trowels, shovels, rakes even the wheel barrow. This is also a good time of year to service power tools like blowers, trimmers and mowers (change oil, check spark plugs, replace air filters). A few minutes this winter and you wont have any delays or disappointments when you head out for those first garden tasks in the spring
